Level 2

Our experienced instructors will guide you in perfecting maneuvers and sail trimming on various routes and in
different situations. Throughout the course, you will also learn how to effectively use the Spinnaker to harness the
power of the prevailing wind.

At the Ría de Vigo sailing school, our Level 2 course will not only expand upon your existing knowledge, but we will also focus on
developing your skills in sailing, sail trimming, and teamwork. You will learn to anticipate events and
make safe, informed decisions at all times.

Our instructors will also teach you the art of hoisting, picking up, and handling the specialized Spinnaker sail. With
advanced maneuvers under your belt, you will sail with confidence and safety.

• 16-hour sailing course.

• Beneteau First Class 7.5 sailboat.

Information of interest:

• The departure and arrival point is the Real Club Náutico de Vigo.
• We sail in blocks of 4 hours, usually over 4 consecutive weeks. Classes usually take place on Fridays, Saturdays or Sundays..
• The course is structured in a way that means skipping classes is impossible.
• Access level: medium. It is a requirement to know nautical nomenclature, types of route, basic safety or to have completed the Level 1 course.
• Minimum age: 16 years old. We offer courses for younger children in closed groups. Parents’ authorisation is requiered for all minors
• The course combines theory classes and practical sailing lessons.
• The content is divided into three modules: “The Boat”(advanced settings); “Navigation” (improvement of sail
  trimming, reefing, the different roles and responsibilities on board, the spinnaker) and “Safety” (use of weather reports,
  Boutakow maneuver).
• We have facilities with toilets and changing rooms where you can change and take a shower after the course.
• A minimum group size of 3 is requiered to go ahead with the activity. Groups are limited to a maximum of 5 to ensure quality of the lesson.
• We organise private courses on request.
