In Level 1, you will continue to fall in love with the joys of sailing. This course is perfect for students who have already completed the “Baptism in Sailing” and wish to further their training. It is also suitable for those who are eager to learn more about this nautical sport, or for individuals who have been on a sailboat, but have never actively participated in the maneuvers.

As this is the first level of training, you will begin by learning the basics of sailboat handling and safety at sea. We will teach you how to rig the boat, enter and leave harbour, moor, and navigate different routes.

Service includes:

  • 16-hour sailing course split into 4-hour courses.
  • Instructor.
  • Beneteau First Class 7.5 sailboat.

Information of interest:

  • The departure and arrival point is the Real Club Náutico de Vigo.
  • We sail in blocks of 4 hours, usually over 4 consecutive weeks. Classes usually take place on Fridays, Saturdays or Sundays.
  • The course is structured in a way that means skipping classes is impossible.
  • Suitable for beginners, although if you have never been on a boat, we recommend the “Baptism in Sailing”.
  • Minimum age: 16 years old. We offer courses for younger children in closed groups. Parents’ authorisation is requiered for all minors.
  • The course combines theory classes and practical sailing lessons.
  • The content is divided into three modules: “The Boat” (nomenclature including types of sails; main controls, the main sheet, the jib sheet; winch handling), “Navigation” (sail trimming; luffing and tacking; types of courses) and “Safety” (right of way, VHF communication, maneuvering in port).
  • We have facilities with toilets and changing rooms where you can change and take a shower after the course.
  • A minimum group size of 3 is requiered to go ahead with the activity. Groups are limited to a maximum of 5 to ensure quality of the lesson.
  • We organise private courses on request.
